The Urban Oak Forest Parent-Child Program is tailored to children ages 1 through 4 years old accompanied by a parent or caregiver. During joyful mornings outside with other families with young children, families experience the foundations of the Waldorf method of early childhood education.
During each morning outside together, children engage in both free play and group experiences. Essential to our program are engaging morning circle songs, ring dances, and a goodbye circle to part ways. Each child’s experience of the season is enriched with songs, rhymes, and finger games. We will create beautiful crafts and see stories magically come to life in puppet plays. Children will play and tinker freely, take a peaceful nature walk, and explore the woods as we meander along. A nourishing snack of homemade buttered bread, cheese, and fresh fruit is provided for all! Siblings, grandparents, and other caregivers are welcome to join us. Class is held entirely outdoors, so be sure to dress in weather-appropriate clothing and bring water bottles. Restrooms and a covered area with picnic tables are available.
